Storybook Look Continues to Travel
Illustrations by Southern Artists features a number of artworks from 10 of the South's most notable children's book illustrators. Mark's art from Cosmo’s Moon, P is for Peach and T is for Touchdown are included. The art is touring the Southeast and has been doing so since the first of 2009. The schedule so far is:

2009 SCBWI Southern Breeze Illustrators' Gallery Show

The 2nd Annual SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators) Southern Breeze Children's Book Illustrators' Gallery Show came together beautifully. Six illustrators participating: Elizabeth Dulemba, Liz Conrad, Ami Blackford, Daniel Powers, Laura Knorr, and Mark Braught.
The show is at the Little Shop of Stories in downtown Decatur, GA.

Children's Storybook Art to be Showcased at Saenger Gallery
Hattiesburg, Mississippi – April 02 through May 30, 2009
The show features original artwork from 10 of the South's most notable children's book illustrators. The display includes 28 paintings, photographs and cut-paper/mixed media artworks.
The exhibit is a part of the Southern Arts Federation, an organization which promotes and supports the arts in the South.

Habitat for Humanity "Home Is Where The Heart Is"
Art Auction – Fri, Feb 20th (6-8pm)
Hosted by the Athens Area Habitat for Humanity (Athens, GA), this art auction is the first fundraising event for the new Women Build campaign. Local artists were invited to design and build a "bird house" for auction. Mark's bird house was picked to be one of the six showcased on the auction's promotional poster.

Pastel Demo at SCAD-Atlanta

Mark was invited to do a demo of pastel techniques by the Ilustration Department of SCAD-Atlanta. Mark chose to do a timely illustration of Barack Obama.

This is Our Land:
Discovering America and the World through Original Illustrations from Children’s Books Exhibition. Original children’s book illustrations representing 80 artists, depicting the diversity of all 50 states and life in 20 countries. This is the first exhibit of its kind, bringing together a vast array of talent dedicated to encouraging an informed, literate and engaged public - starting from childhood. Scheduled to tour throughout the United States, Europe & Asia until 2010.
